Maya and Rohit were high school sweethearts with a tight group of mutual friends from Central Massachusetts and now they are newlyweds beginning a new life together out in California. When I met Maya she was planning her wedding with Roh who was all the way across the country at graduate school. So I had never met her groom to be until the wedding day, which is very rare for me. Nonetheless I was super excited for Maya and Roh’s wedding all year for a few reasons. The first reason being that theirs was going to be the first Hindu wedding I’ve ever photographed. The other reasons were that Maya seemed like such a fun, down to earth girl so I knew they had to be an awesome couple and also that she told us her and Roh and all their friends loved to dance and party, so I knew their wedding was going to be a blast. She wasn’t lying, the guests started dancing to the sounds of drums as Rohit was welcomed in by the families on a white horse long before the ceremony even began!
(The above photo was taken by Laura Widness of Ruby Shoes Photography while I continued to capture Maya’s preparations!)
I loved the idea of having the groom hidden by two of his groomsmen while Maya walked down the isle towards him.
The anticipation! :)
Maya looked gorgeous in her wedding attire.
Maya + Roh, you are truly an adorable couple and your love for each other was so apparent throughout the entire day. Congratulations you lovebirds, you! :)
(The entire wedding took place at the Boxborough Holiday Inn)
